Perth’s digital world is really busy right now! If you own a business, work in marketing, or just love technology, you know that connecting with other people is where the magic happens. It’s how we learn, get ideas, and find fun new things to do. People ask us all the time, “Where are the best places in Perth to meet other digital people?” We love making websites that work well here at Perth Website Studio, but we also want to see the local scene do well. So, we’ve made our own list of the best independent tech events in town.
Why Engaging with the Perth Tech Community Matters

To be honest, going to tech events in Perth is about a lot more than just exchanging business cards. People are talking about emerging technologies at these meetups. They’re sharing new ideas for making websites and apps that people like to use, smart ways to manage products, and how businesses are changing because of technology. This is your chance to get a real sense of what’s going on in the area, hear about the problems local businesses are having, and maybe even meet your next great partner. Also, you can tell who really has a passion for digital. People who attend these events are always learning, and that’s the kind of person you want to work with.

Just a quick note: these events are run by amazing, dedicated volunteers. The best way to find out the most recent dates and times is to look at their pages on sites like Eventbrite or Meetup.com.

Getting the Most Out of Community Events

Going is one thing; getting something useful out of it is another. Don’t make these common mistakes:
- Going Without a Plan: Know why you’re going. Are you there to learn something specific, meet a possible employee, or get a better idea of the market? Solution: Before you get there, make a simple goal, like “I want to learn one new thing about product management.”
- Being Only About Business: Don’t just give out business cards. People in the tech community value real connections. Solution: Instead of thinking about what to say, try to really listen. If you’re interested in the people you’re talking to, you’ll be amazed at how far a simple conversation can go.
- Staying Within Your Comfort Zone: The real benefit is that you can meet new people. Solution: Make sure to introduce yourself to a speaker or start a conversation with someone new.
